about

Self-appointed moral guardians, and those who believe they have a grasp on the scriptures and as a result "authorized" to condemn whomever they feel are committing sins of whatever kind, can go fuck themselves.
These man-made "sins" are constructs created centuries ago to exercise control.
We all know what is good and bad, what its consequences can be, and should act accordingly. Apply logic and common sense:
Kill someone? Bad.
Feed hungry kids? Good.
Not that difficult.

Do we need people bestowing power upon themselves in claiming the ultimate wisdom and pointing out to us how evil we are, and will burn in hell if we don't toe the line?

The backing of this track was programmed in 2005 and lay dormant.
In 2017 guitars were added and last minute another instrumental was avoided by the selection of a subject, writing of lyrics and recording of the vocals.

lyrics

S!N
(written, produced and performed by Paul Blom - c 2005 / 2017)

Don't act upon your instincts
It's a sin!
We'll decide your boundaries
For salvation, to let you in

Don't ever think of pleasure
It's a sin!
We'll condemn you to hell
With glee, and a grin

Don't be stifled by those fuckers
Committing their private sins
Behind their closed doors
Hypocrisy seeps from their skin

You're only as sinful,
As your conscience allows
From murder, lies and robbery
To breaking your vows

Ignore their accusations
And self-righteous indignation
You know better what's inside your heart
Than those in self-appointed stations

Their moral judgement, keeps them in business
They're dependent on all sins
To legitimize and to monetize
So live your life, don't let them win

about

F8 Cape Town, South Africa

in 1997 V.O.D drummer Paul bought a bass guitar while the band was touring Europe (with Katatonia and In The Woods). On returning to South Africa he started creating music on his own terms, with no restrictions. Anything goes. Coining the term Tekno-Grind for this solo project (which only utilizes bass guitars), the initial intention for what it would sound like resulted in an eclectic beast! ... more
